LOOK – REFLECT – CONNECT

Ira Cards create an opportunity to learn and use Te Reo Māori.

Ira Cards are also a source for inspiration, by drawing a card and applying that kupu/word to our situation.

Ira Cards’ imagery is strong, powerful, magical, sparkling drawing on Te Ao Māori (The Māori World) mythology, creation story, values, spirituality, culture.

 The imagery draws influence from the realms we walk in; from the surrealism of our spiritual natures; from the natural elements of our physical world:

Land   Sky   Light   Wind   Fire   Water

and the energy that sparks, ebbs, and flows between each.

It depicts the moment of creation as light floods in, as Papa-tū-ā-nuku – our Earth Mother, and Rangi-nui-te-pō – our Sky Father are pushed apart, and the world is flooded with new light, and refreshed energy.  From this energetic force, life flourished.

The imagery shows how the winds of change rush over and around the land stirring us to connect with our tīpuna/ancestors;  with people and life forms around us.

The purpose of the Ira Cards is to stir up these fragments of our Selves that exist in the past, the present, the future, and connect with them.

 Ira can be a point in time, like a grain of sand.  Or a moment when we ground ourselves in this human experience yet are lifted into the awareness of our higher Selves, of our inner wisdom, to know the essence of who we truly are.

Ira Cards suggest we stop and reflect on these moments of insight that flood us with a Truth that we cannot deny.
